Kyle pulled his wrist to his eyesight, taking note of the time that had passed since London’s disappearance.

Twenty minutes.

His gaze floated over the party to the double doors at the entrance.

“Your glass is half full. Are you all right?” Hunter asked, strolling to a stop at Kyle’s side.

Kyle glanced at the brown liquor, taking a small swig, then looking at his brother. “I’m good. I was—”

The double doors opened, and the same hospitality clerk who led him to the party entered. Kyle’s sentence was cut short, and his brows dipped. “Excuse me for a second.”

He approached her just as her eyes connected with his.

“Oh, there you are.” She handed him a folded card. “This is for you, and congratulations, Mr. Valentine.”

He would usually correct people when they called him by what he considered was his father’s proper salutation. However, due to his curiosity about the card, he let it slide, opting to open the note instead.

A keycard slipped into his palm, and a message was written in a script of curves.
